Our eyes are literally the windows to our world. Yet, there is little that we do to take care of them routinely. The average person gets more conscious of the health of their eyes only after there has been a problem. I-Clear 10 Ayurvedic medicine for eyes ideally helps to maintain good vision. The most common vision problems today are caused by modern lifestyles and habits. Long hours spent staring at a screen or bent over a smart device are stressful for the vision. This results in blurry vision, blue light fatigue, and dryness. Exposure to irritants, pollutants, and harsh sunlight also makes the problem worse.

Jhandu (Tagetes erecta)

Jhandu or Gheda Phool is an ornamental flower called Marigold that is cultivated in India for primarily decorative and religious ritual purposes. It is a plant that is a native of Mexico that spread to Africa and then the rest of the world. It is a shrub that grows 3 to 4 feet in height. It is used in Ayurvedic medicine both internally and for external use.

In Ayurveda, marigold is used to reduce vitiated Pitta and Kapha Doshas. Both the leaf and the flowers of the plant are used. The flowers are used in Ayurvedic treatment for improved vision. The entire plant is found to contain limonene, linalyl acetate, ocimene, tagetone, linalool and n-nonyl aldehyde. The flowers contain lutein esters of myristate, mono myristate and dipalmitate. The fresh petals are rich in hydroxy flavones and tagetin. It is the ingredient lutein that is found to be especially beneficial and is used widely in Ayurvedic medicine for eyes and Ayurvedic medicine for vision improvement. Research has found that lutein is a good herbal treatment for relieving dryness because of exposure to too much strong light. This is not an uncommon cause of most cases of vision strain and fatigue.
