Pippali, Vidarikand, Arjuna, Shatavari, Mulethi, Bel, Pushkaramoola, Kesar, and Jivanti are some of the other plant sources prescribed in traditional texts. Over the years, physicians and ayurvedic pharmacies have created their own version of the chyavanaprash using a combination of the herbs mentioned in the ancient texts. The traditional version uses 37 different herbs. Most modern chyavanaprashas uses only some of them.
