Murivenna is an ancient gift that comes from the medical repository of God's own country, Kerala. This vata-reducing traditional massage oil is an excellent wound healer, pain reliever and bonesetter, traditionally used by the royal warriors for strengthening the bones, muscles, and joints

About Murivenna Thailam

The name Murivenna comes from two Malayalam words, ‘Murivu’ – meaning, wound and ‘Enna’- meaning, oil. Hence Murivenna is oil that helps in healing the wound. Prepared in a coconut oil base, with the addition of Tandulambu (rice water), both of which have cooling properties, Murivenna rapidly helps reduce inflammation and is highly useful in injuries involving pain and swelling. The main ingredients in Murivenna are Karanja patra (Pongamia pinnata), Sigru patra (Moringa oleifera), Kanya (Aloe barbadensis/ Aloe vera) etc. Murivenna quickens the healing process and gives almost instant relief from swelling, stiffness, pain, & inflammation, naturally. Though named as wound oil, it is conventionally used while bandaging fractures, for dislocation, sprain, and soft tissue trauma.

How to Usage

  • It can be applied externally over the affected area, either warm or at room temperature. Gentle massage after the application gives a soothing effect and aids in quick absorption of oil.
  • Application of cotton swabs dipped in warm Murivenna over painful joints and sprain areas provides quick relief.
  • Retaining warm Murivenna over the lower back region (also known as Kativasti in Ayurveda) or other parts of the spine, for a specific period, is found to be beneficial in diseases affecting the back and hip.
  • In ulcers, cuts and burns, the mere application of the oil with soft bandaging (if necessary) promotes faster healing.

When creating this herbal oil, the herbs are infused with sesame oil along with some herb water mixture. The solid waste herb particles are then filtered out, thereby leaving behind oil-soluble and water-soluble active elements of medicinal herbs. How can Murivenna oil help with knee pain?

Any kind of discomfort can affect our daily activities, and if this discomfort comes from our knees that it can affect our whole body's activities like running, walking, running, standing, and so on. The joint is held together by ligaments and membranes that protect it. This is why an Ayurvedic oil massage will help in nourishing the knee region, making it less prone to future injuries.

When it comes to knee joint health, Ayurveda can provide curative and preventive aspects. As long as you're consistent with your Ayurveda treatments, you will see positive changes in the structure of your body.
