Lehyams or electuaries are also known as herbal jams. They are semi-solid ayurvedic medicines prepared from sugar syrup, jaggery, herbal pulp, herbal powder, herbal decoctions and other ingredients.

What is Ayurveda
Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). For this reason vata types often fail to eat and sleep regularly, swinging from eating heavy foods to ground and sedate themselves, or ingesting stimulants like coffee and sugar to sustain intense physical or mental activity. Insomnia and low immunity are very common problem for the sensitive vata person.
